George Hart to Exhibit Work in Echman Gallery Show
This November, the Eichman Gallery in Woodland Park will showcase the vibrant paintings and pastels of renowned Pikes Peak Plein Air Artist George Hart.
With a rich artistic journey spanning 25 years, George has become a prominent figure in the Pikes Peak region. He was a founding member of the Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters, contributing significantly to the local art community. In addition to his involvement with the Pueblo Arts Guild and the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, he was also a key member of the original Springs Seven Group. His work captures the breathtaking beauty of the landscapes, inviting viewers to experience the essence of the Pikes Peak area through his unique artistic lens.

PPPAP member Michael Gault is a semi-finalist in the 17th International ARC Salon Competition and two of Michael's paitings, View of Pikes Peak from Trout Creek (a plein air oil) and Cottonwood Reflections a landscape, will be displayed on the ART website and will be included in the Lunar Codex.
The Lunar Codex is a set of time capsules launched on three NASA-related missions and will include the work of 7,000 creatives. This will be the first significant placement of contemporary arts on the Moon in 50 years.
The annual Salon competition is hosted by the Art Renewal Center. The International Salon is the most prestigious realist art competition in the Americas and perhaps the world, offers over $100,000 in cash awards and International recognition through partnerships with prestigious magazines, galleries, museum exhibitions, and a strong online presence.

The 24th Annual Victor Celebrates the Arts Paint Out was held through Labor Day with 51 artists participating in the event. There were 154 paintings entered into the event with 44% of the art sold during the event.

The Laura Gilpin award was presented to PPPAP member Julie Cutting. The Best Miniature award went to Michael Gault, and Michael also received received the 3rd Place Award for the Professional Division.

Tim was unable to participate in the plein air event this year but was proud to support the effort by lending his experience in plein air to judge the event.
'Lloyd Maynard Larsen" is an oil portrait commission by Michelle Melville-Speck, of a real-life cowboy that was born in Cripple Creek, CO in 1938. Lloyd raised longhorn cattle and did cattle drives to get them to market. He lraised horses and was highly-regarded for raising cattle dogs. The portrait was commissioned by a long-time friend

Lloyd raised longhorn cattle and did cattle drives to get them to market. He lraised horses and was highly-regarded for raising cattle dogs. The portrait was commissioned by a long-time friend that worked with Lloyd on his ranch in Divide Colorado. Lloyd passed away in March of 2024 and his saddle, hat, ropes and western gear were all on display in his honor at his funeral. He was well known & respected throughout the area as a knowledgeable, original Old West Cowboy; tough, yet lovable.

PPPAP's Co-Chair, Scott Yeager was a featured painter at the 7th annual Broadmoor Art Experience, a live painting event in association with the Broadmoor Hotel. The event allows visitors to interact with artists while they create new pieces on-site, asking questions, or inquire about acquisitions.
Scott's is represented by the Broadmoor Galleries.
Chris Alvarez, PPPAP member was a guest artist at a live painting event, The 7th annual Broadmoor Art Experience, in association with the Broadmoor Hotel. Chris painted the first two weekends in July setting up each Saturday and Sunday, across the Broadmoor Property, demonstrating his plein air skills & talking with visitors.
Chris teaches through the Alvarez School in Colorado Springs, CO.
